Scale used to position values along an axis.

• 'category': Place discrete categories at evenly spaced positions.
• 'datetime': Position timestamps on a time scale.
• 'linear': Position numeric values on a linear scale.
• 'logarithmic': Position positive numeric values on a logarithmic scale.
